ISO 27001 is an international standard that specifies the requirements that a KTEO must meet in order to manage its information security comprehensively and effectively. The ISO 27001 standard is at an organizational level interwoven with the concept of information security and contains the requirements for the creation, implementation and improvement of an information security management system.
Information is one of the vital assets of organizations and businesses. Therefore the confidentiality, integrity and availability of key business and customer information are vital to achieving competitiveness, fluididity, profitability, legal compliance and a commercial image. ISO 27001 intends to assist a KTEO in this project. It is very easy to imagine the catastrophic consequences that would have for a KTEO if its information was lost, destroyed, distorted, undermined or abused. This could lead to its complete collapse.
